oppScience was formed in 2017, fruit of the experience of two French companies: Polyspot and Noopsis.
Dating back to 2001, Polyspot has specialised in the integration of and access to information, as well as the delivery of processed data to users.
Winners of a 2011 prize for innovation, Noopsis was created in 2008 by a group of researchers and engineers at the GREYC lab in Caen (a research group specializing in the field of digital science, image processing, machine learning and artifical intelligence, under the authority of the CNRS University of Caen), internationally recognized by the scientific community for its ground-breaking work in the field of Natural Language Processing.
The expertise of Noopsis is centred around semantic analysis, which consists primarily of using Machine Learning techniques to automate the extraction and search for information in natural language text-based content (also known as “text-mining”).
After an initial meeting, the two companies decided to form a partnership: the value added by Noopsis lying in the integration and extraction of value from unstructured data, while Polyspot continued its work on connectivity, using optimization solutions based on a schemaless integration method.
It was on the basis of this partnership, and many years of R&D, that the platform gradually grew into the powerhouse it is today.
After combining the technologies and product lines of Polyspot and Noopsis, the natural next step was the creation, in December 2017, of a new initiative: oppScience, to herald the launch a new end-to-end platform: bee4sense.
Intrinsically customizable, bee4sense was created with the goal of transforming structured and unstructured data into a kind of collective intelligence, in order to derive the maximum possible value.
This is the goal we hope to achieve at oppScience, by creating a personnalized use case for each of our clients in order to meet their unique, industry-specific needs.
